Facts about Crested Geckos

Posted by [email protected] on December 2, 2018 at 12:05 AM

Crested Geckos are wonderful creatures with an interesting backstory. They were orignally discovered in 1866 in New Caledonia by a man named Alphone Guichenot. He also named the species. The Crested Gecko was then thought to have become extinct until 1994, where a man named Robert Seipp rediscovered the species. They are some of the largest species bhecause they can grow 6-10 in. Like some geckos, they do not have eyelashes and have to lick their eyes to moisten them. Whena crested gecko loses its tail, it doesn't grow back. But this is better than ohter geckos losing tails because the tail doesn't do much for the Crested Gecko. In fact, most geckos in the wild don't even have a tail.
